Refraction is the exam's center of gravity, and the instrument options now span from the classic manual Phoroptor to binocular systems that refract both eyes under natural viewing conditions. We carry Reichert's refraction line and the Visionix digital refraction instruments.
How the options differ
Reichert's Ultramatic RX Master is the manual standard with a limited lifetime warranty; the Phoroptor VRx is the flagship digital head with Smart Cylinder refinement and deep EMR integration; SightChek is the value digital entry within the VisionChek suite. On the Visionix side, the VX 65 is a digital phoropter built around their wavefront data flow, and the Eye Refract runs binocular refraction with both eyes open. Manual reliability, digital data flow, and binocular technique are genuinely different exam philosophies, so decide which one your exam actually runs on before comparing feature lists.
