Visionix & Optovue Diagnostic Technologies

Optovue OCT and OCT-A platforms alongside Visionix refraction, lens analysis, and multimodal screening instruments for ophthalmology and optometry practices.

Three product families, one manufacturer

Visionix covers a wider span of the practice than most single manufacturers we represent. Optovue is the clinical OCT brand. Visionix badges the refraction, lens analysis, and multimodal screening instruments. For a practice planning several purchases over a couple of years, that consolidation is often worth discussing on its own.

OCT and OCT-A

Optovue SOLIX, SOLIX Essential, and the iSeries platforms for structural and angiographic imaging.

Refraction and lens analysis

VX 40 lens analysis plus VX 65 and Eye Refract for the refraction lane.

Multimodal screening

VX 650 and VX 120+ Dry Eye for consolidated anterior and posterior measurement.

Optovue OCT and OCT-A

SOLIX is Optovue's flagship platform and a strong option for practices evaluating replacement of an older OCT. SOLIX Essential runs the same engine in a narrower configuration. The iSeries platforms below run at 80 kHz and suit practices with different imaging needs or a smaller footprint.

Optovue SOLIX OCT and OCT-A system

Optovue

Optovue SOLIX

FullRange spectral domain OCT running at 120 kHz with AngioVue OCT angiography, an integrated fundus camera, and external IR imaging. The FullRange scan range is what makes the long 16 x 6.25 mm posterior and 18 x 6.25 mm anterior scans possible on one instrument.

  • AngioVue OCT-A for non-invasive vascular imaging
  • Single-scan glaucoma protocol with normative reference database
  • Anterior chamber, pachymetry, and angle measurement
  • Topography module available on the platform

Optovue iSeries OCT platforms

All three run at 80 kHz and include the iWellness examination protocol. They differ mainly in what is bundled alongside the OCT.

Optovue

Optovue iFusion 80

Combines the OCT capability of the iVue 80 with the iCam 12 fundus camera for posterior and anterior segment images from one instrument.

The choice when you want OCT and fundus photography on a single platform rather than two devices in the lane.

Optovue

Optovue iScan 80

Fully integrated OCT with a complete suite of retina, optic nerve, and anterior segment scans.

It performs its own focus and alignment and talks the patient through the exam in twelve languages, which is what makes it the easiest of the three to hand to a technician.

Optovue

Optovue iVue 80

Compact OCT for assessing the retina, optic disc, and cornea.

Quantifies thickness of the retina, nerve fiber layer, ganglion cell complex, and cornea. The starting point in the iSeries.

Deciding between the iSeries and SOLIX usually comes down to whether you need angiography and FullRange depth. Ask us to walk through it.

Multimodal diagnostics and screening

Both instruments consolidate measurements that are otherwise spread across several devices. Visionix positions them as screening and measurement platforms: they produce images and quantitative data for you to interpret.

Why work with Blue River Medical

Equipment consultation based on what you image today, not a catalog

Product demos so your own staff can run the instrument before you buy

Installation coordination and staff training

Workflow planning for the pre-test lane and the exam room

Ongoing customer support and service coordination with the manufacturer

Trade-in discussions when you are replacing existing equipment

We are independent representatives serving eye care practices across Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah. Service and repair responsibility differs by manufacturer and model, so ask us and we will tell you what we handle directly and what we coordinate with Visionix. See service and maintenance for our general equipment service capabilities, or used equipment if a trade-in is part of the conversation.
