Overview
The iScan 80 is built to be delegated. Visionix states it delivers consistent scan acquisition with minimal training. Pupil alignment technology detects the eye, aligns the camera, and optimizes signal strength; the operator positions the patient, picks the scan, and presses start while voice guidance talks the patient through the exam in any of 12 languages. After acquisition it checks its own scan quality. The console integrates operator interface, display, patient interface, and scan head into one portable unit that mounts on any tabletop. It comes in two configurations: Essential, with iWellness plus basic retina and glaucoma scans for practices new to OCT, and Comprehensive, with the full iVue scan set, upgradeable at any time.

Essential or Comprehensive
Essential covers iWellness plus the basic retina and glaucoma scans, a natural starting point for a practice new to OCT. Comprehensive adds the rest of the iVue scan set, including the anterior segment tools. Because Essential upgrades in place, the honest advice is to buy for the scans you will run this year and upgrade when your case mix demands it.
