Smart System VR Headset

Programmable virtual reality headset running Smart System software for visual field testing, contrast sensitivity, color vision, and stereo testing in any room.

Overview

The Smart System VR Headset moves vision testing out of the dark room. It bundles a VR headset with a Surface Pro tablet and controllers, runs M&S's Smart System software, and tests visual fields plus ptosis, Esterman, color vision, stereo, and contrast sensitivity. SMARTracker 2 active eye tracking detects fixation loss, pauses the test, and prompts the patient to re-fixate. Because it works in a fully lit room with no internet connection required, testing can happen in any exam room, a satellite office, or off-site.

Who this is a good fit for

If none of these describe your practice, it is probably not the right choice, and we will tell you that.

Practices without space for a dedicated dark field room

Multi-location groups that want portable perimetry between offices

Clinics testing patients who struggle with a bowl perimeter

Offices adding glaucoma workflow capacity without building out a room

What to ask on a demo

A demo is worth more when you arrive with your own cases and a list of questions. Here is what we would raise.

  • Run a field on a patient who historically tests poorly on a bowl perimeter
  • Ask which perimetry test patterns and strategies your protocols need, and confirm each
  • Review how results export into your EMR
  • Try a test in a normally lit exam room to see the workflow difference
